The dental office is centrally located, easy to access, friendly and clean! Dr. Mathis has gone out of his way to organize and secure a great team of well trained and caring employees to both help schedule and obtain service and the ladies with the knowledge to carry out the dental care you need. I don’t feel like the office has tried to upsell me anything that wasn’t pertinent to my health and made me both welcomed back and comfortable returning. Many times we can leave a doctors office with the feelings that we were not heard or listened too, ignored and pushed aside. You will not have those concerns with Dr Mathis office. Please tell Kim that William sent you and maybe I’ll get a complimentary travel size toothpaste. 😀

From the get-go this practice was all I hoped it would be! The receptionist was helpful and down-to-earth. I sat talking to a Navy veteran while waiting-great comraderie in the wait room, but no wait to speak of. The hygienist got me in right on the dot. Kimber was efficient but very personable. I appreciated the way she explained her actions very much. She even took time to hear my funny story! Dr Mathes was also personable as well as being highly professiona. Absolutely, one of the THEE best dental experiences...ever. The physical building (exterior) is very unassuming. Do not hesitate to walk inside, you will thank me later. I was greeted with a friendly smile and welcoming to the office. Check in was simple. Hygienist (Kaiti) was very thorough with my exam (new patient). She provided explanations for everything that was being completed during the visit. She was meticulous with documenting everything she was viewing/examining. The Cavatron (Ultrasonic Scaler), manual scaling, polishing, flossing, and fluoride (brushed on) was a complete standout. Thank you, Kaiti (hope it is ok that I shared your name)...your really good at your job and you take it very serious. Finally, Dr. Mathes was super professional, kind, listened to my concerns and had questions of his own because he was an active listener. I normally do not give out reviews until I have had a few appointments in the bank. Not the case here. One of the best VA referrals I have ever attended for services. My first appointment here for a cleaning couldn’t have gone better! I had been going to my old dentist for 15+ years & was hesitant to look for somewhere new. After reading the reviews I gave Dr. Mathes’ office a call! I can’t remember who was at the front desk, but she was very helpful and so nice! Kimber, the hygienist I had, was so nice as well, knowledgeable & explained everything she was doing so I understood what was going on, and was extremely thorough with the cleaning. Dr. Mathes was very nice too and took the time to go over everything with me. Highly recommend!

Dr. Mathes is - by far - the best dentist I've ever found. He's been my dentist for over a decade now and fought hard to save the teeth I'd neglected. Not only has he saved my teeth, he has now probably saved my life! In one of his regular exams of neck and jaw, he noticed a lump in my neck. I think I was the 1st patient the girl that cleaned my teeth ever had. She had no idea what she was doing. Seemed like she should've maybe been shadowing someone until she learned her job. When the doctor came in to examine my teeth, he saw a few problem teeth but said nothing at all to me about a plan of action to fix anything, did the exam and left the room. Hoping for a better experience my next appointment, maybe today wasn't a good day at the office.

At the Mathes office, they seem genuine and honest. Candace was the Assistant who did the X-rays, the pictures, and cleaning, and she was very professional, friendly, and efficient.

He and Assistant took xray and reglued the tooth I saved in a record 30 minutes. I have beyond respect and thankfulness for these people who came to a stranger's rescue. These are a very caring and professional business and would recommend them highly.

Have been going to Dr Mathes for many years now, and feel sort of like family! Recently had one of those emergencies, planning to head off about noon and awoke knowing full well I probably needed a tooth extraction. Come on over and we’ll fit you in! Waited at the most ten minutes, and within the next ten knew for sure this had to come out! Ten minutes later they had me set up for an emergency extraction. Two hours after the first call the ordeal was over. Absolutely the best group of caring people you will find. Highly recommend you become part of their family also if you are looking for a great dentist and staff.

Lynn is my technician and is so considerate of my comfort while she cleans my teeth. I have ultra sensitive teeth and she is great at being aware of this. Dr. Mathes NEVER causes one bit of pain. He also lets me decide about services I might need. His never pushes having extra things done. If a procedure is available he asks if I would like to have it but does not push. If it is NECESSARY he definitely tells me but doesn't push things that might look nice but are extras. My husband credits Dr. Mathes with saving his natural teeth. Dr. Mathes was relentless in stressing care of my husband's (and mine)gums.

My husband had a dental emergency recently and was referred here by a co-worker. Dr. Mathes is known for being the best dentist in the area. My husband has had many dental issues (two sets of baby teeth, short jaw, extractions, fillings, poor alignment/dental work from another dentist, etc.), so he needed the best! My husband also referred me to Dr. Mathes make sure my teeth were fine too. To be honest, I hadn't been to a dentist for over 18 years. I went in today and got my teeth cleaned, an exam and a full X-ray. The staff was friendly and extremely helpful when recommending services and getting my insurance straightened out. The hygienist was very helpful in explaining what she was going to do before hand and what to expect to alleviate my fears. She also talked about some of the newer technologies they had to help make teeth cleaning and other dental work easier. The hygienist was gentle and took her time with my teeth. We had a little trouble getting the X-ray wand to stay put (I have a small mouth), but she was flexible and allowed me to hold the wand to get the x-ray done. She also showed me how to care for my teeth. The shortest part was actually the examination with Dr. Mathes (if I had more issues, I'm sure it would have been longer). He was also gentle. Dr. Mathes will not recommend anything that is not necessary. I was concerned because I never had that appointment in high school where the dentist examines your wisdom teeth. I still had all my wisdom teeth. They came in straight and were not causing issues. They also looked fine on X-ray and in the exam, so Dr. Mathes did not recommend that they be pulled. I was lucky that I didn't have cavities or something more serious considering how long it's been since my last visit. I had put it off for many reasons, one was that I didn't know a good dentist (the area I came from did not have good dentists, so I avoided them). I didn't want just anyone around my mouth performing extractions and fillings without a good cause. After this I'm definitely going regularly now! I already scheduled my next cleaning 🙂
